The International Swimming Hall of Fame, Inc. (ISHOF), established in 1965, is a not-for-profit educational organization headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. ISHOF's purpose is preserve the history of swimming, celebrate the heroes, promote the benefits and importance of swimming as a key to fitness, good health, quality of life, and the water safety of all children and adults, and connect older generations of swimmers to youth.

ISHOF Vision Statement:
To be the global focal point for recording and sharing the history of aquatics, promoting swimming as an essential life-skill, and developing educational programs and events related to water sports.

ISHOF Mission Statement:
To collaborate with aquatic organizations worldwide to preserve, educate and celebrate history, showcase events, share cultures, and increase participation in aquatic sports.


We accomplish our purpose through the operation of two unique institutions:

1.  The International Swimming Hall of Fame Museum in Ft. Lauderdale, FL that includes extensive exhibits and archival library; and holds annual inductions of new swimmers and important figures in the swimming community. 

2. The Swimming World news group consisting of Swimming World Magazine, SwimmingWorld.com website, SwimmingWorld.tv video content, and the Swimming World Vault of historic swimming content dating back to 1960.
